Excessive stress can come from many sources. Nutritional deficiencies are a substantial common factor. Our bodies thrive when we get the essential nutrients we need, like B vitamins, Vitamins A, C and E, Magnesium, Zinc, and other trace elements. When we are under high amounts of stress, our bodies need more of these nutrients. Diets low in protein and high in processed carbohydrates may also create deficiencies. The Standard American Diet is both high in processed carbs and sugar and lower in quality fats and protein which leads to a lack of micronutrients.
Eating a healthy, balanced diet prevents weight gain, lowers our risk for diet-related illnesses, and gives us the energy to have a full and rewarding life. Taking preventive care to keep our adrenals healthy is a great place to start.
